Cataracts

A cataract is when the lens inside the eye begins to get cloudy.  If you live long enough everyone gets a cataract at some point in their lives.  This can result in dim, blurry vision with faded colors. This can progress very slowly or very fast.

Cataract development can be slowed through antioxidants and UV protection such as sunglasses.  When cataracts develop a change in spectacle prescription and better lighting can help symptoms.  As symptoms increase lens replacement surgery is the next step. Cataract surgery is safe, fast and very effective.

At Green Eye Care our Eye Doctor screens for cataracts during our routine examinations for all ages.
